Authentic Labs' Real Connected Packaging Platform now allows brands to satisfy Amazon Transparency enrollment using their existing serialized Digital Link — eliminating the need for a separate label
[Boulder, CO, Oct 26, 2026] – Authentic Labs, a leader in connected packaging solutions, today announced it has become an integration partner for Amazon Transparency, Amazon's anti-counterfeiting program. The partnership allows brands using Authentic Labs' Real Connected Packaging Platform to meet Amazon Transparency requirements through their serialized GS1 Digital Link, without producing and applying a separate Transparency-specific label.
Previously, brands enrolled in Amazon Transparency were required to apply a dedicated serialized code to each unit, distinct from any GS1 Digital Link already on their packaging. Through this new integration, a brand's serialized Digital Link — increasingly standard as brands prepare for the GS1 Sunrise 2027 transition — can now satisfy that same requirement.
"Brands are already making a packaging change to add a Digital Link ahead of Sunrise 2027," said David McCloskey, President at Authentic Labs. "This partnership means that same code can also carry their Amazon Transparency requirement, instead of asking brands to manage two serialization systems for two separate mandates."
Why This Matters for Brands
Amazon Transparency requires enrolled products to carry a serialized code, regardless of whether that specific product ships through Amazon — a requirement designed to prevent counterfeit goods from entering Amazon's fulfillment network through third-party sellers. For brands already managing packaging production at scale, adding a second dedicated label has meant additional material costs, an added application step on the production line, and a second serialization system to reconcile against their existing Digital Link rollout.
By allowing a serialized GS1 Digital Link to satisfy Transparency enrollment directly, Authentic Labs enables brands to consolidate both requirements into a single on-pack code — reducing production complexity while maintaining full compliance with Amazon's program.
The integration also extends a consumer-facing advantage: unlike Transparency-specific codes, which require a dedicated app to scan, a GS1 Digital Link can be read by any smartphone camera — the same way consumers already scan QR codes for menus or promotions. Brands using the Real Platform can pair that lower-friction scan with a clear call to action, turning a compliance requirement into a consumer engagement opportunity.
Real-World Implementation
Authentic Labs began its integration with Mad Mattr, an award-winning product line from its sister company Relevant Play, ahead of broader rollout to Real Platform brand partners — continuing the company's practice of validating new capabilities on its own products before extending them to customers.
Authentic Labs also supports brands using third-party serialization providers, including an existing integration with RFID provider Maxim, allowing brands to sync existing serialization workflows with their on-pack Digital Link rather than migrating entirely to a new system.
